School Clothes Program |
In the past few years, the Washington County DJFS has funded a special project to purchase school clothes/shoes for eligible school age children. There is no certainty of available funding from year to year. In order to be prepared in the event funding does become available, applications are mailed each year to children who were on Medicaid as of January 31st in Washington County. To be eligible the child must be:

Note: Student must be attending school outside of the home.

Nursing Grant-In-Aid Program |

Ohio Tuition Trust Authority credits are available to be used to offset the cost of tuition for very specific and identified programs that benefit the county (i.e. nursing, radiology or physical therapy program). Any student receiving assistance under this program must agree that, upon completion of their individual nursing, radiology or physical therapy program, will remain in and be employed in one of these fields in Washington County for one year. Broker Services for Eligible Youths |

The local YMCA acts as a broker to provide additional services to eligible Washington County children. The YMCA developed an available list of youth services, programs and activities in which a posted cost for enrollment is required. Please contact the YMCA at (740) 373-2250 for more information. |

Youth Employment Program |
|
The Washington County Career Center will identify and reduce the employment barriers of area high school students enrolled in the YEP program. Services or goods to be provided will be in direct relationship to a need of the student in gaining or retaining employment (i.e. transportation, work clothing, work equipment, etc.). School Outreach Prevention Program |

Washington County Children Services Board administers a School Outreach Prevention Program and a Family Intervention Specialist Program. Prevention Specialists are placed in the school districts to assist in identifying and resolving problems early with children and families before they move to a crisis stage.
